RN, Licensed Administrator

I’ve been employed at Mississippi Care Center of Morton since January of 1992. After receiving my nursing degree in December of 1985, I worked in various areas of nursing including five years of acute care, one year of clinic work and 1 year in the Cardiac Care Unit at St. Dominic before serving as Mississippi Care Center’s Director of Nursing for 15 years. Following a three year stint as a nursing consultant, I returned to Mississippi Care Center as the licensed Administrator in May of 2010. As Administrator, I direct and coordinate all activities of the facility to carry out its objectives and provide the best possible care for each resident in striving to reach their optimal potential while creating a sense of security and contentment. “Working at MSCC provides me an opportunity to serve others and enjoy a relationship with our family of residents and employees. It is a pleasure to be associated with a company that not only believes that the resident comes first but does everything possible to ensure the residents receive the highest quality of care. I am proud of our employees who have so willingly given of themselves to achieve our quality rating.”

Diane Purvis
Activities Director

I began working at MSCC of Morton 2013 in the Social Services Department. After four years in Social Services, the opportunity came available to transfer to the Activities Director position.

I was born in Canada and raised in Brandon, MS, to a large family of three brothers and one sister, I currently live in Pelahatchie (Crossroads/Walters community) with my husband of 19 years, daughter (18 years old), three dogs (Jack Russell, Chihuahua, and Chocolate Lab), and one Dutch rabbit. I spend my time away from work  traveling, taking weekend trips, spending as much time as possible with family, shopping, going to the movies with daughter and going on ‘dates’ with my husband, camping/being outdoors, playing the piano, playing with my pets, and making people laugh and smile. My motto in life is “Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to!”

I love my job because I get to spend my day having fun and laughing to just about anything with the residents on a regular basis. I am able to be silly and tell my corny jokes with unconditional love and laughter from the residents, even if they don’t ‘get’ my jokes. I love that I have been able to get to really know them on a personal level and the way they make me feel like I am part of their family that means so much to me. Whenever I may take some time off from work, it never ceases to amaze me how many residents and many times they will make sure I know that they missed me. So, being that person that brightens their day and help them forget their ‘woes’ for a little while, that is just one of many reasons why I love my job!
